She grabs his hand, like before but not, They leave the pool, with the falls behind them. The jungle is more than he can imagine. Colors. Sounds. His fear drowned by amazement.

It starts with her. She is no little girl. She is a woman. Unlike any woman he’s ever seen. “Are you…” “Are you her?” he asks. “Yes, and no.” she says. “We have to keep going.” she says.

He washes ashore She’s there, at the bottom of the falls. She helps him up, out of the water dripping and wet. He breaths deeply. A million new smells. A million new sights.

Down, down, down, down. He falls. Crash. He can feel the cold, and the wet, and the roar. He opens his eyes.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, Pray for us sinners, Now, And at the hour of our deaths.

And then it happens, It all just washes away, All at once, Like slipping into the ocean, A warm, comfortable, good ocean. The pain, the terrible, the pity. Gone.
