I’m surprised you didn’t include the worst case in history of a President totally ignoring the rules about what he can and can’t do: Andrew Jackson’s removal of the Cherokee. Actually, pretty much everything Andrew Jackson did, he made sure to spit in the face of the Supreme Court as he did so, but the Indian Removal Act was the big one.
Oh wait, I get it now. You were showing examples of when a president overstepping his authority is a necessary thing, and contrasting those examples against a case where the necessity is, at the very least, questionable. Andy Jackson doesn’t really fit in either of those categories.
