Ghede (Complete)

Ghede

The dead of night,
the time is right,
we take flight,
down the stairs,
outside the light.

My heart beats fast,
we move at a dash,
the night won’t last,
into the jungle,
to join the cast.

A clearing now,
it’s big and round,
a joyous row,
to great our arrival,
we take a bow.

Running, holding, jumping, greeting,
kissing, smiling, rolling, falling,
they are in my arms and I in theirs,
sharing, sitting, warming, drinking,
playing, feeling, drifting down.

The seriousness can start,
we all know our part,
we know it all by heart,
the things that will come,
are no longer apart.

The cup comes to me,
the liquid is all I see,
the price and the fee,
the liquid burns my throat,
until he’s set free.

It starts in my toes,
leaching away my woes,
my vision slows,
I break out,
my guest begins to show.

Lurching, pulling, pushing, floating,
dragging, spinning, whirling, dancing,
left foot, right foot, up and down,
flailing, gyrating, bouncing, drumming,
running, holding, jumping, greeting.

Silent silver sparkles sing into my eyes,
a lavish longing loving lifts my lungs,
drumming, thrumming, humming, overcomes my ears,
spicy, sweet, savory scorching my tongue,
the tender touch of times torment.

Grabbing, holding, leading, needing,
pushing, pulling, groaning, grunting,
I do not know her, but my guest does,
sucking, licking, kissing, tonguing,
moving, moaning, drifting down.

I am asleep but half awake,
I’m only the reflection in the lake,
I’m here for my guest’s sake,
He is me for now,
but not tomorrow when I wake.

Up again and running free,
sprinting and dashing on my feet,
tagging and hiding and looking to seek,
a touch and run and touch some more,
giggling, laughing on my knees.

Talking now to each other,
this one here was my brother,
this one now may be my mother,
a long talk now with a man,
that one then was my father.

Sitting now,
I breath deeply,
out of me the spirit flies,
clutching hands with my friends,
now its time to say goodbye.
